Sacramento was lit this weekend, and no, we’re not just talking about the beam.
Coach Goody had the honor of stepping into the action at the Sacramento Kings Fan Fest, and let me tell you, it was more than just a day at the arena. From the moment I walked in, you could feel the energy buzzing. Fans of all ages repping purple and black, reunited for a celebration of community, culture, and of course Kings basketball.
The day kicked iff with team introductions that had the whole crowd on their feet. The roar for returning stars was loud, but the excitement around the new faces was undeniable. It was also the first time we got to see Russell Westbrook rocking Kings colors in the flesh. A surreal moment that felt like a new chapter for the franchise.
Next up, the Kings gave fabs a behind-the-scenes look with sample practice session. We got a chance to watch the team go through drills and treat us with a few highlight plays. Hands down the highligh of the day was the Rookie Talent Show. The young guys didnt just bring their A-game on the court, they brought personality, humor, and heart. From karaoke, to their dance moves it was clear this rookie group has character to match their potential. The crowd ate it up and honestly, so did I.
Big love and respect to the Sacramento Kings for putting on such an electric event, and special thank you to my station home 97.5 fm KDEE for the opportunity to repersent and connect with the community. Fan First wasn’t just an event, it was an experience. One that reminded us all why Sacramento is on of the realest basketball cities in the world.
Until next time….
