They say when you find you purpose, everything in your life starts making sense. For me, that’s exactly what these first 30 episodes on my radio show “Givin’ Game with Coach Goody” have been. A dream I used to pray about as a kid, has turned into my reality.
I grew up loving sport. Not just the highlights, not just the game, but the culture, the grind, the storytelling behind every athlete. I didnt know back then that one day I’d take that passion and turn it into a platform-a mic, a show and a voice. My voice.
Basketball gave me my first stage. On the court, I found my confidence. In coaching, I found my leadership. Every win, every loss, every huddle prepared me for something bigger. Sports shaped how I see the world-discipline, resilience, teamwork, accountability. And now, all of that lives in my show.
When I sit behind that mic, I’m not just talking stats or scores. I’m bringing opinion. I’m bringing a woman’s perspective. I’m. bringing energy. I’m giving game the same way my coaches gave me and the same way I gave it to all my former athletes.
Here’s the part I never expected: that my voice would inspire. That my presence would create a lane for so many girls and women of color who love sports just as much as I do. Growing up I didn’t a lot of women, especially black women breaking down the game, running the show, being the voice people tune in to. I just knew I loved this.
This isn’t just about meliving a dream, it’s about opening doors. It’s about making sure the next generation of girls know they can love sports loudly, boldly, and unapologetically.
These first 30 episodes? They’re just the warm-up. The first quarter. The stretch before the marathon. And if you know me, you know I’m nowhere near done.
So if you’ve been rocking with me since day one-thank you. If you just found the show-welcome to the family. We’re building something special. Something authentic. Something that looks like us, sounds like us, and feels like us.
